A leading German banking group with a presence across Asia and global markets. Strong focus on commercial banking products (Export Credit, Project Finance, Syndicated Loans, Commodity & Trade Finance) and Capital Markets/Treasury for Institutional Clients).

Your Tasks

  • Provide timely and effective legal advice on transaction structuring, documentation, and execution for ECA covered loans, Project Finance and Corporate Loans (both bilateral and syndicated, Commodity/Structured), Trade Finance deals as well as certain Capital Markets/Treasury related transactions originated from Branches in Hong Kong and Singapore (role domiciled in HK but with shared responsibility for and regular travel to SG).
  • Review, draft, and negotiate deal-specific legal documentation
  • Manage relationships with external counsel and oversee their work on transactional and advisory matters.
  • Report to the Hong Kong General Manager
  • Act as point of contact for Head Office Legal team (which is functionally separate and has sign-off authority on documentation).
  • Collaborate with internal teams across regional offices to resolve issues and ensure smooth transaction completion.
  • Act as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders, escalating complex matters when necessary.
  • Apply legal expertise to make independent judgments while adhering to internal policies and commercial considerations.

Your Profile

  • Qualified lawyer in the Hong Kong SAR with ideally 5+ years of experience gained with an international Law Firm
  • Strong background in providing legal advice on structured & commercial finance
  • In-depth understanding of banking processes and ability to implement effective control measures.
